Changing the world's opinion… as soon as we finish this math homework

Another blog chain has come and gone, and I’m so happy that it was a success. I’ve thought for a while on what the December theme should be–we need something that can really spark the imagination–and came up with this:
“How do you develop and relate to your characters?”
Oh, characters. They’re only fiction, but they still manage to torment us, as well as make us laugh, cry, and smile. Some questions you may want to answer in your post: How do they come to you? Do you have any special strategies for developing their physical and mental traits? In your opinion, what’s the importance of names? And finally, once your characters are fully formed, what sorts of connections do you forge with them?
Leave a comment below if you’d like to participate, and I’ll start scheduling. Thanks again for a great November chain!
