Teens Can Write, Too!

Changing the world's opinion… as soon as we finish this math homework

TCWT April 2015 Blog Chain

Hey guys! For April’s blog chain, I want to do a twist on a topic from two years ago, which asked participants to write a letter to an antagonist of their choosing. And because fictional ships are the cause of so many FEELINGS in the book world, I think it could be fun to write a letter to one of them.

So:

“Write a letter to a fictional couple.”

(I am trying to sound professional here, but: I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS TOPIC.)

As usual, you have a lot of freedom with the topic. You could write a letter to a fictional couple you love, to a fiction couple you hate, to multiple fictional couples, or even to a character who desperately needs to see that he or she is passionately in love with [insert person here]. Anything you come up with (as long as it in some way relates to the topic) totally fits. Don’t be afraid to be creative!

To sign up, just comment below with a link to your blog and I’ll assign you a date. The schedule will go up on April 4th; the blog chain will begin on April 5th.

[If you’re new to the site and are wondering what the blog chain is, you can find out more here. You are also more than welcome to join in. We’re always looking for more participants!]

I think that was just a gif of Tom Hiddleston falling out of a chair… until the fangirls got their hands on it… (I’m scared of Tom Hiddleston, because he might take over the world and almost no one would even care. Only half joking about that.)
Sounds great! I definitely want to try. (I don’t think anyone replied to my comment last time, hence the reason I was so late… :-S

I’ll put you down for the 10th! And ha, yeah, I can think of a very large number of people who would celebrate Tom Hiddleston world domination. 😉

      • erinkenobi2893
        April 4, 2015

Okay! I’ll make sure to write it down, this time, so I won’t be late. 😉
        Yeah… 0_0 Some people are just crazy…

  10. coruscantbookshelf
    March 27, 2015

Yes! Yesyesyesyesyesyes! I’m soooo glad you put this up; I was just burned to have missed the chain about putting a character into therapy… stop burbling, Rosalie, and just tell the guy you want to play already.
    So anyway.
I’m at http://nasrielsfanfics.wordpress.com, I’ll take anything that’s still free, and I have just two questions:
1: Do I have to write it as me?
2: Does it have to be somebody else’s fictional couple? ‘Cause I’ve got this epic ship going with Nasriel and Kijé, and this prompt would go So. Screamingly. Well. with what I seriously think is the best short I wrote in all of last year.

    • John Hansen
      April 3, 2015

I’m so happy you like it! (Also, you can always do the character therapy topic separate from the chain if you’d like. I’d love to read a post like that.) Putting you down for the 13th!

      1. Nope!
      2. Doesn’t have to be somebody else’s at all. That sounds fantastic–I vote go for it. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  11. Ummm…Does friendship count? 😛 Probably not, but yea…It’s just that I don’t really like reading books with romance (which is just about every YA book, but in some cases it’s fine). If friendship doesn’t count, then I guess I’ll just enjoy reading everyone else’s letters. 🙂

    • ponymad2booklover
      March 29, 2015

      I second that. 🙂

      • John Hansen
        April 3, 2015

Friendship could definitely work! In that case, would you be interested in participating? (And if so, is the 29th a good date?) No worries at all if not, though. 🙂

      • ponymad2booklover
        April 4, 2015

        Yes, I can do the 29th. 🙂

    • John Hansen
      April 3, 2015

Friendship could totally count, as long as it’s, like, about why the characters are (or would make) great friends, I guess? So like the friend equivalent of shipping, basically. Would you still be interested? If so, would the 28th work?

This sounds like an interesting challenge – can you reserve something for me that’s late in the month? (It will give me the time to think and brainstorm and … procrastinate. :D)
