TCWT January 2013 Blog Chain

ETA: 3/31/14: *If you’re one of the awesome people who finds these past blog chain posts through search terms, you can go here to find more recent topics and to sign up for a current chain.*

We’re back! The blog chain is back! This month’s chain is hosted by Miriam Joy, and she is here to tell you all a little bit about it:

Sometimes it’s very difficult to pinpoint the exact point in time when something about our life changed. Sometimes it’s very easy – the day you picked up a new hobby, the day you met somebody in particular, that one film you saw that turned you into a total Tom Hiddleston fangirl…

And there are books. I’ve read from a young age, so there are a lot of books that have influenced me. But sometimes there is just one that made a particular difference – that left its mark on you. And that’s what this month’s prompt is about:

“Is there one particular book that changed your life? If so, why did you originally choose to read it? What impact has it had on you?”

Was it something you were given, or something you bought by chance? Did you know anything about it before you started? How many times have you now read it, and what has it done to your life? Those are the sorts of things I want to know.

And yes, I am asking you to choose one book. I know, it’s hard. If it’s an entire series, then I guess you could talk about that.

If there is no single book that’s influenced you and your entire life has been an amalgamation of influences from all over the place – awesome! Erm. I was about to suggest an alternative post for you guys, but maybe you could just choose a book you really really like and talk about that instead. I don’t know. I’m rambling.

You know what? Think outside the box. Do whatever you want. Let’s start 2013 with an awesome run of TCWT posts.

Hello! I’m new to this, yet this is an awesome prompt! I’m already thinking of what book to write about. Thanks! Btw, the only times I cannot post is on Jan 14 and 17th. Thanks again! I can’t wait to read what people have to say about the book they choose (-:

And finally, I blog at http://fida-islaih.blogspot.com.

Can we put you down for January 5th? (I believe that’s the start of the chain and you commented early, so…)
It’s my first time hosting so I’m new to this too!

I’m in! This is an amazing prompt and I already know what book to talk about! It would be awesome if I could have a day early in the chain so that I can have time to write before Winter Break ends. http://theteenagewriter.wordpress.com

I have no idea which book to write about, but I’m actual thinking of partipating for once! I know I’m definite back at school by the 15th; so after that, it would have to be a Sunday to post (gives me the Saturday to write), but aside from that, I should be okay with an earlier date before the 8th as a weekday.
    Alex 🙂

I am going to commit myself and say that will be fine, but be prepared in case I panic! (though I’m hoping that won’t happen!) xD

Hi! I’ve never done this before (though I’ve read the instructions a few times), still a little unsure of the finer points, but the prompt is great! I’d love to be in. Any day suits me. 🙂 Thanks!

That’s cool. You write a post based on the prompt, post it on the day you’re given, and read other people’s posts. That’s all there is to it – no finer details or small print 🙂
I’ll put you down for the 12th of January.

Do you reblog our posts then on the day we’re assigned or…?

    • Miriam Joy
      December 30, 2012

Nope, we just put a list up so the other members of the chain know to go look, and also you include it in your post so anyone reading yours can click on the links to all the others 🙂
      You can have the 19th!

Um yeah so you may have caught this, but you probably didn’t. My blog moved from readingforthesky to epistolarygirl.wordpress.com because I am an incredibly compulsive person. Sorry! 😐
